I Like: The Invisible Bike Helmet

When Anna Haupt and Terese Astin were studying Industrial Design at the University of Lund in Sweden they had an idea; to make a more comfortable, safe and also invisible bike helmet. That was in 2005, now here it is;

Pretty cool if you ask me. For more info about the invisible bike helmet click here

For all of you who's not in Scandinavia and who can't get a hold of issue 4-5 of the brilliant design magazine Cap & Design, here's the short interview with me and some pics of my feature. I just visited Sweden for a long weekend and it felt very strange to walk around in Stockholm and see my Bear illustration on the front cover of a magazine in all shops, quite a ego boost ;)

Road trip Pt.3 Bocastle

Stopped in Bocastle for a few hours on our way back to London, very beautiful little village located in a deep valley with a river going through it and out in the ocean and on the other hand very lush green forests, here are some pics overseeing their harbour.

PS. If you go, then don't go and eat at The Riverside, the have a very rude female waitress there and the food they served us was so bad (brown salad for an example) that we left.. I managed to eat one mussel before we left and yes, my stomach hasn't been alright since - if you can't do salad I doubt that you can do seafood...

I could live here, Newquay is a very laid-back and beautiful small surf town and imagine having the ocean around the corner, switch off the TV and go surfing instead.

I love this pic of a dog having a evening swim alone in the harbour, he liked it so much that he went in twice;

There was a seal in the harbour this evening as well, there is a website with all the famous seals in Newquay so if I can spot this guy then I can find out his name.

More and more often I feel like I can't breath in this town and need to get away (I might be getting old…), so when I was asked if I wanted to go to Cornwall for the weekend there wasn't much to think about. I have lived in London for more then 9 years now but I haven't seen much of the country except Liverpool, Brighton and Broadstairs and Cornwall is famous for its climate, surfing, beaches and beautiful scenery so I had to go and here are some pics from my weekend, definitely one of the best weekends that I have had in a while.

Animal Kingdom Bear T's at TSHIRT STORE

Hello, hello,

Today I have been at the Autumn Fair in Birmingham, I got up at 6 this morning and just came home and it's half past ten so I am quite knackered and ready for bed but I have had a brilliant day and have seen a lot of amazing (and unbelievably ugly) designs and my head is a bit overloaded with impressions right now. I found some really beautifully illustrated children's books at the fair that I will show for you soon but first I just wanted to share some good news, my Animal Kingdom Bear is available on 100% fairtrade certified and organic cotton T's for men and women over at TSHIRT STORE, yeay!

Now I will pass out with a big smile in my face.

Anorak Magazine's Summer Fete

Here are some photos from Anorak Magazines Summer Fete that took place yesterday on Dalston Square here in east London.  It was a very laid-back, nice atmosphere and randomly some famous clowns dropped by and we were really lucky with the weather and for the first time the fontaine on the little square was turned on which the kids loved as it was a very sunny and hot day and they now had a big fontaine to run through, (there were moments when I was considering joining). I had a great day with my ten metre long Doodle Floor, it was fun to see so many parents joining in as well and doodlers as young as 14 months, thanks to everyone who came!

I am still in summer mode and is not very happy about being back in town and miss being close to nature so soon as I get the chance I will jump on the train and escape to the closest forest, beach, bay, lake, pond. Here are some more photos from last Sundays escape to Richmond Park.

Peace and Quiet, green parrots (yes, we have flocks of them living here in London, I will show you if I ever manage to get them in a photo), endless fields and lot's of red deers and great company.

A very nice Sunday well spent.

I Like: Food For Thought, Adam Curtis

Adam Curtis documentaries are something everyone should have a look at so I thought that I should share my two favourites;  "The Century of Self" and "The Trap - What Happened to Our Dream of Freedom".

Watch Them. It is an order.

Swedish Summer: Oväntat besök

 photo hungryhedgehogcopyasawikman-1.jpg

Had some visitors, two male hedgehogs fighting about my mom's little garden and a tiny one as well that ran and took cover in the bushes as soon as I tried to sneak up with my camera. How amazing are these little creatures?

PS The Swedish word for hedgehog is igelkott - how nice is that?

I really miss Sweden and Swedish summer, summers in a big city is not for me.
